In order to proceed you must answer YES to ALL of the following items:

  1. You are a resident of Onondaga County
  2. You have completed the New York State Pistol License Application including the following:
    All four (4) Character Reference Forms have been completed and signed
    All four (4) Character References have signed the State of New York Pistol /Revolver License Application PPB3 (original signatures required.)
  3. You have attended and received a certificate from one of the APPROVED Handgun Safety Course Certified Instructors (See the website for the most recent approved list.)



  1. Incomplete applications will not be processed at the time of your appointment.  Your entire application will be returned to you and you will be instructed to reschedule your appointment.
  2. The $55.75 and $3 payment processing fee are NON REFUNDABLE.  Do not pay and book your appointment unless you are sure you can attend.
  3. The pistol license unit typically books 6+ months out.  Please keep this in mind before making your payment.
