Arrest Following Erratic Operation, Property Damage, and Narcotics Possession

CICERO/CLAY, NY — In the early morning hours of October 21, 2025, an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office patrol observed a Cadillac sedan traveling northbound on Brewerton Road in the Town of Cicero, operating erratically. A traffic stop was initiated; a short vehicle pursuit ensued from the 7800 block of Brewerton Road to Lawton Road. The pursuit was self-terminated by the deputy as the vehicle entered a residential area.
Shortly thereafter, deputies located the suspect vehicle parked in front of a residence on Lucchesi Drive in the Town of Clay. The operator was identified as Michael A. Wright (33)
Preliminary investigation indicates Wright was involved in multiple property-damage collisions between Fortuna Parkway and Lucchesi Drive, including impacts with several mailboxes, a parked vehicle, a National Grid transformer box, and a residence on Lucchesi Drive. Code inspectors inspected the house and deemed it livable. A small bag of cocaine was recovered from the vehicle.
Wright was transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation. Upon release, he was charged with:
  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree (CPCS 7)
  • Multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets (UTTs) related to erratic operation and collisions
