On 7/3/2025 at approximately 1609 hours, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Oswego Road and Wetzel Road in the Town of Clay.
An SUV driven by Connor J. Weakley, 32 of Liverpool struck a vehicle and continued to drive away at a high rate of speed. Weakley then ran the traffic light at the intersection, struck another vehicle and his vehicle ended up in the ditch in front of Avicolli’s.
The driver of the second vehicle that Weakley hit was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and back pain. Weakley was evaluated at the scene for an abrasion to his arm and was not transported. The driver of the first vehicle was not injured.
Weakley was arrested and transported to the OCSO North Community Police Station where he provided a breath test sample of .24% BAC. Weakley was subsequently released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clay Court for aggravated DWI over .18, DWI over .08, Common Law DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop at a Red Light, Operating with No Insurance, Speeding, Moved from Lane Unsafely, Following too Closely and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
Previously on 3/31/25, Weakley was arrested on Route 31 in the Town of Clay for Aggravated DWI over .18%, DWI over .08%, Common Law DWI, and Speeding. At that time Weakley provided a breath test sample of .18% BAC. He was then released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clay Court.
This accident caused significant traffic back ups in the surrounding area until the vehicles were towed away. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office will be out in full force for the 4th of July Holiday and the Weekend looking for unsafe and impaired drivers. We urge the public that if they have been drinking to get a ride and don’t drive!
