On June 14, 2025, around 1 pm, deputies from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Upstate University Hospital in downtown Syracuse following a report of a male gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a man in his 30s who had sustained a gunshot wound to his buttocks. Preliminary information suggests the incident occurred in the Mattydale area in the Town of Salina near the 400 block of Brookfield Rd. and does not appear to be a random act of violence. There is no threat to the public.
The victim is currently in good condition and is expected to survive his injuries.
This case has been turned over to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division and remains open and active. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s CID Unit at 315-435-3081.
