The mission of the Patrol Section is to maintain the trust which the public has placed on us by providing for a safe and secure community. Patrol Deputies responded to 72,675 calls for service in 2014. Patrol Deputies render assistance to those in need and enforce the laws of New York State fairly and impartially.
Patrol Deputies work out of community police stations maintained by the Sheriff's Office in the Northern and Southern townships. These locations make it more convenient for citizens to visit and get information.
Patrol Deputies are dispatched to calls by the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center at Onondaga Hill. The calls are dispatched to the Deputies both by radio and by wireless computer connection. Patrol cars are equipped with the latest computer technology that allows Deputies instant access to computer data including DMV information.
